Leon Löwentraut in Paris
Major exhibition opening in the European capital of art
His exhibition in Paris - the European capital of art - is a dream come true for artist Leon Löwentraut. ‘RÊVES’ (Dreams) is the title of the 26-year-old's exhibition, which has just opened at the BY LARA SEDBON gallery in the trendy Marais district of Paris. Numerous guests attended the well-attended vernissage, including collectors from Mexico and Asia as well as many young French artists.
Gallery owner Lara Sedbon emphasises: ‘We are delighted to welcome Leon Löwentraut to our gallery here in Paris for the first time. I met Leon through a friend, the curator and art historian Denise Wendel-Poray, who introduced me to Leon a few years ago. We got in touch and had conversations for months, which have now materialised.’ She continues: ‘What particularly attracts me to Leon's work is the enormous versatility, the abundance of colours, the extremely spontaneous gestures. Above all, it is this freedom, the freedom of movement, the freedom in dealing with colours that interests me in his work. Leon's story, his career, shows that anything is possible.’
